In October 2007 following the untimely death of professional auctioneer and Texas Auction Academy Instructor Rocky Strickland who was also a big supporter of Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, the owners of the school wanted to honor him by dedicating all future donations to the hospital in his name.

Legendary Texas Singer/Songwriter Robert Earl Keen was the headliner and Gilley’s Dallas was the place to be on Saturday night, March 24th as Dallas Heritage Village held their annual fundraiser entitled “Gone to Texas”.

On Sunday, March 25th, hundreds of patrons gathered in Dallas to help senior citizens in need. The event was the VNA’s (Visiting Nurses Association) inaugural event, “Wheels for Meals and More”.

Tucson, Arizona was the scene for the annual Jewelers For Children auction held on January 30th at the Centurion Jewelry Show at the Westin La Paloma Resort. Over 700 jewelry industry vendors and retailers attended the event.

The DIFFA/DALLAS COLLECTION 2007 event was entitled, “Upsidedown” which well describes the dramatic effect that HIV/AIDS has for those who find themselves with these life challenging illnesses.

“The February graduating class did a fantastic job!” exclaimed Mike Jones, Director of the Texas Auction Academy in Dallas, when asked about the latest in-class charity auction that raised over $10,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Dallas and the NAA Auxiliary in Overland Park, Kansas.
